Weddings
Welcome! We’re delighted that you’re interested in being married at our church. Marrying in church is personal, meaningful, spiritual and beautiful, just as you want it to be.
On this page, we want to help guide you through the process of determining whether you can be married at St John’s, and to answer some of your initial queries. Below are a few simple steps to follow at the outset:
Check that St John’s Hoxton is your parish church. Type your postcode into A CHURCH NEAR YOU to check which is your parish church. (If we’re not your parish church, you may still be able to marry at St John’s if you are a regular worshipper in our congregation, or have a Qualifying Connection.)

Once you’re familiar with the information provided above, please contact us to arrange a meeting with the Vicar or another member of Clergy.

The marriage service has some statutory fees set by the central Church of England. The cost changes slightly each year, but you should expect to pay around £550 for the service and the legal preliminaries.
Additional costs from the church are usually incurred for: musicians; AV operators; refreshments; car park attendants.
