Tidings of Good (and Sad) News...
It's with a mixture of sadness and joy that I write to inform our church that Julian Powell will be moving on from his role as Youth Minister at St John's early in the new year. This news has been communicated to the youth tonight (15/12/17).Julian has been appointed to a new role in a larger youth team at Holy Trinity Brompton to lead their mentoring and pastoral work with young people in particular.Of course, we're terribly sad that Julian will be leaving us. But we're also very grateful for the three years of dedicated service he has given at St John's, and for the great foundations of our youth ministry that he has helped to lay.He and Louise have brought a wonderful worshipping and prayerful culture to our church - and we're incredibly thankful for them. They've enjoyed living in Hoxton in the first years of their married life, and I know that St John's has played an enormous part in Julian's development and as he thinks about ordained ministry in the future.Julian's final Sunday will be Sunday 7th January, and there'll be a chance to say thank you and pray for them at both morning services.I will be consulting with Mo and with the volunteer youth leaders to determine what the youth programme will look like during January and February as we set about recruiting someone to lead the next phase of youth ministry at St John's.Please pray for Julian and Louise, for all the young people, for the youth leaders (especially Mo) and for whoever God is calling to join us during 2018.Thank you,Graham
