Autumn Prayer & Fasting
Throughout the autumn term, we want to invite members of the St John's church family to join together in a season of prayer and fasting for the church. Rather than gathering monthly for midweek prayer, we'll send out a fortnight prayer bulletin to everyone who signs up below. You'll be invited to focus your prayers every Wednesday on some of the key challenges facing the church in this season.
Adding Fasting To Prayer
For those who would like to fast as well, you can sign up below to indicate that you'll be adding fasting to prayer in community. We're suggesting that your fast might be from after your evening meal on Tuesday until your evening meal on Wednesday. In other words, missing breakfast and lunch on Wednesday, and abstaining from food for about 21 hours once per fortnight. (Remember to drink plenty during your fast - especially water.) Of course, you're welcome to determine another approach to fasting - perhaps fasting from tv, YouTube or social media for a day every fortnight.
